Our mission is to make early disease detection accessible, affordable, and non-invasive. Traditional screening methods, such as CT scans, are costly, require hospital visits, and expose patients to radiation. Provandas addresses these barriers with a simple breath-based test that can be completed at home or in a doctor’s office — no needles, no radiation, and no discomfort. Each sample is analyzed at our centralized laboratory using advanced mass spectrometry and proprietary AI models, producing highly accurate results in a matter of days.
Beyond our core focus on lung cancer, Provandas’ technology is designed for scalability across a wide range of diseases and applications. Our platform has the potential to evolve from a screening tool into a comprehensive diagnostic system — capable of detecting multiple cancers and even neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s through a single breath analysis. By building one of the world’s most extensive databases of human breath spectra, we are paving the way for predictive health insights and truly personalized medicine.
In addition to human health, Provandas is expanding its platform to improve the lives of companion animals. Our research into breath-based diagnostics for veterinary applications aims to enable early detection of disease in dogs and cats, offering veterinarians and pet owners a non-invasive, stress-free tool for monitoring animal health. This initiative represents a natural extension of our mission — applying advanced AI and analytical chemistry to enhance wellbeing across species.

Senthil Sundaram PhD
Dr. Senthil Sundaram, physics PhD, is an accomplished businessman and entrepreneur with extensive experience applying machine learning and artificial intelligence across finance and scientific domains. A former executive at Two Sigma, one of the world’s premier quantitative hedge funds, he has led initiatives in AI-driven research, data infrastructure, and predictive modeling. Senthil was also the founder of Kula Investments LLC, through which he raised hundreds of millions of dollars in AUM. As co-founder of Lyra LLC, an incubator for companies solving real-world problems with modern AI, he recognized Provandas as one of the most promising ventures in analytical innovation and now devotes his full-time efforts to advancing its development and mission.

Christopher L. Wistrom DO
Dr. Christopher L. Wistrom, DO, is an emergency medicine physician board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine, serving as Medical Director of the Mercyhealth Prehospital and Emergency Medical Services Centers in Janesville and Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. A graduate of A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine with residency training at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Dr. Wistrom brings a strong background in emergency medical services, tactical EMS, and SWAT operations, shaped by his early career as a paramedic and firefighter. Deeply committed to advancing prehospital medicine, he also serves as a Systems Medical Director for Mercyhealth. Dr. Wistrom co-authored a pioneering COVID-19 study that identified biomarkers in human breath using Proton Transfer Reaction Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (PTR-TOF-MS), demonstrating his innovative application of analytical chemistry in clinical diagnostics. His work directly aligns with Provandas’ mission to develop cutting-edge, noninvasive diagnostic technologies grounded in rigorous scientific research.

Trystan Smith
Trystan Smith is a seasoned technologist and the co-founder of Lyra LLC, where he develops an advanced platform for financial modeling and general scientific applications. Bridging science, technology, and business, Trystan’s experience includes quantum computing, machine learning, and quantitative finance. Before founding Lyra, he conducted early research on FaceID technology in 2016, developing calibration and testing methods for the conoscope lens used to calibrate Apple’s FaceID system. His scientific experience also includes research in trapped-ion and neutral-atom quantum computing, contributing to hardware development for emerging quantum platforms. At Provandas, he leads the creation of predictive algorithmic models and a robust data platform, integrating advanced modeling with a scalable data infrastructure to unify scientific rigor with technological innovation.

Heinz Huber, PhD
Dr. Heinz Huber is an analytical chemist with over twenty years of experience in both industrial and academic settings, and the founder of Edelweiss Technology Solutions, a consulting firm specializing in method development, instrumentation optimization, and technology innovation for chemical analysis of ambient air and solid materials. A recognized expert in Proton Transfer Reaction Mass Spectrometry (PTR-MS), he is the principal author of the ASTM method for PTR-MS quantification and holds a patent enhancing its performance. His career spans ambient air monitoring for trace toxins and illicit substances, radiological analysis at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Hanford site, academic research at UCLA, and field studies with the Austrian Academy of Science. With 47 peer-reviewed publications and a D.Sc. from the University of Vienna, Dr. Huber brings exceptional technical expertise directly relevant to Provandas’ mission of advancing precision analytical solutions for environmental and chemical monitoring. Heinz leads the scientific effort at Provandas.
